How a month runs

1. Day 1–20NominateAnyone with an account nominates a cause with a photo, a short story about what the money will do, and who receives it. Stories about a person or a business need a listed plant or a buyer to vouch.
2. Day 21–28VoteEvery verified account gets one vote. Results are live on this page.
3. Day 29–31ConfirmWe confirm the winner is who they say they are and that the receiving entity can take the funds. That is the only manual step.
4. Day 1stPay and publishThe pool is paid, the receipt is posted here, and the result goes out on social. 20% of the new month starts accruing the same day.

The rules, so it stays fair

• Money goes to a town, school, registered charity or a business with a business number. Help for a person is delivered through a local charity or paid in kind, never as cash to an individual.
• Stories describe what the money will do. No medical details, no children’s full names, and anyone can ask for their story to be taken down at any time.
• One nomination per account per month. One vote per verified account. Duplicate accounts forfeit.
• First-time nominators are reviewed before their story goes live. Repeat nominators publish immediately.
• The pool is 20% of check revenue (net of refunds and processing fees) or $500, whichever is more. Every payment is receipted below within a week.
